Media and Telecommunications
Overview >>
The Telecom Sector in India has taken giant strides since its liberalization. But its development and structure is full of anomalies. Today, the telecom sector stands at crossroads and fascinates lawyers. Legal intervention is required for conduct of smooth transactions between the Government, TRAI, Telecom Operators and the Consumers. The TLF will strive to keep pace with and trace the developments in the realm of telecom law.
With the development of communications technology, India has emerged as the Back-Office of the world. Business/Knowledge Process Outsourcing Units (both captive and third-party) are setting ground in India. If this growth has to be sustained, a supportive legal framework needs to be put in place. In this regard, the TLF will conduct research on areas such as infrastructure development, employment laws, data protection and taxation-related issues.
